You might reasonably think that having moved into our shiny new home that the need for your continued financial support of the Treehouse was at end.

Sadly this isn't the case. As any new homeowner will tell you the drain on your wallet doesn't end when you move in and flop, exhausted, onto the nearest packing crate.

In terms of monthly expenditure the cost of making the TH Message Board more sturdy and reliable is nearly four times that of our previous home.

The board has never generated much in the way of income - in fact, the small amount received via the Amazon link-up didn't even cover the monthly hosting charges of the old board.

At this point I would like to stress that The Treehouse will NEVER become a subscription site - it's stated aim has always been to be an open-to-all free site. This will always be the case. A substantial and regular income does need to be generated though to allow the Treehouse to offer these new services and to continue to improve the existing ones.

The Paypal Donations Button

This allows individual users to make a voluntary donation of any amount, no matter how small, towards the cost of the Message Board running costs. "Paypal" is an online payment service used by, among others, EBay. It allows the sending of a payment from a credit/debit card to any e-mail address and is safe and secure.It has proved to be safe and easy use during the past few months and will be retained as a permanent feature to allow any user to make a donation to the running costs of the Treehouse at any time and will run alongside other fund-raising sources such as our Treehouse Shop and our Amazon Affiliates link up.

If you haven't used Paypal before you'll need to register with them first. It's really easy and takes less than five minutes to complete - it's like registering with Amazon etc. You'll need you credit/debit card details ready, of course.

If you would like to receive a monthly reminder from us that your Paypal donation is now due please e-mail me direct . Please be assured that this is a "request" service and there is no pressure to respond if you want to miss a month for whatever reason.

If each of the 200+ regular users of the Treehouse Message Board made a very small monthly donation then we would be secure financially in a short space of time. We are, however, realistic enough to realise that this isn't going to happen. Therefore can we please ask you to think long and hard about making a donation - no matter how small - as often as you can.

The Message Board can only continue to flourish and prosper thanks to your generosity and goodwill.
